About Us

Our Purpose

MentorHub was founded as a nonprofit 501c3 in 2020 to develop technology and mentoring approaches that advance equitable and unfettered access to evidence-based behavioral health, education, and human services for people everywhere, regardless of who they are, where they live, and/or what they have experienced.

Our Vision

is a future where all people have the relationships, support, and opportunities they need to thrive.

Our Mission

Build networks of care, opportunity, and belonging that leave no one in the margins.

In collaboration with our partners, MentorHub provides specialized mentoring tools and services that multiply the impact of mentors and direct service providers and remove systemic, geographic, and social barriers to receiving effective and affirming support.

Our Intention

is to work in ways that demonstrate an ongoing and unwavering pursuit of justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion. As both individuals and as an organization, we are committed to learning and unlearning ways of thinking, acting, and communicating to better serve those who have been systematically oppressed, excluded, and/or underserved. We do this by acting in ways that are:

Collaborative Icon

Collaborative:
In our journey to be part of the solution to complicated systemic and structural problems, we want to learn from and with our partners. We strive to center the voice and experience of youth, volunteers, families, practitioners, researchers, and community partners in the development of new and existing products, programs, services, and initiatives.

Accessible Icon

Accessible:
We believe that a person’s ability to achieve health, well-being, and prosperity should not depend on who they are, where they live, or what they can afford. We extend this belief to potential partners and customers, recognizing that evidence-based mentoring tools and approaches must be available to all providers committed to delivering quality, impactful mentoring – regardless of their program’s size, budget, or model.

Invested Icon

Invested:
We achieve our mission when we bolster the capacity of our partners to achieve theirs. We operate from a place of abundance and possibility, happily sharing resources, expertise, and relationships with mission-aligned partners. We believe there is no such thing as competition when it comes to connecting young people to the resources, opportunities, and relationships they need to thrive.

Credible Icon

Credible:
We seek out practical and experiential knowledge, external data, expert counsel, and diverse experiences that build on our own and challenge us to be more effective. We recognize the role privilege and systems of oppression play in what is considered to be “known” and evidence-based and pursue partnerships with those from underrepresented and under-resourced communities.

Our Story

MentorHub first began as a mobile application designed by Dr. Rhodes and Nancy McNamara, to facilitate the use of best-in-class, technology-delivered interventions by young people with the encouragement of their mentors. Through collaboration with pioneering partners and investors however, the MentorHub app quickly evolved to incorporate broader functionality co-designed with practitioners in the field of youth mentoring and higher education.

Funding from the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative gave MentorHub the resources to increase operational capacity and evolve MentorHub from being a tech platform to a purpose-driven organization that supports mentoring and non-mentoring organizations expand their capacity, reach, and impact.

Today, we are fulfilling our purpose by working side-by-side with researchers, practitioners, and community members to build and bolster mentoring’s capacity to deliver effective, equitable, and affirming interventions, resources, and support that improve the well-being of young people.
