MentorHub NU allows you to complete your Check-In every 24 hours. Log in to the app and you should be immediately prompted to take your Check-In. If you are already in your app you can always click the Check-In icon on the top right-hand corner of your screen.

After you complete the Check-In, MentorHubNU gives you recommendations for apps that may be helpful for your top challenges. For example, if you’re struggling with Academic Habits, MentorHub NU may suggest that you try out Khan Academy. Or, if you’re struggling with Health & Wellbeing, MentorHub NU may recommend IntelliCare.

We recommend that you look at the recommended apps and decide if any are right for you. You can find a description of the app by clicking on it, and a pop-up will appear. If you think it’s the right fit for you, we recommend downloading the apps and trying them out.

Get support!

We know that feeling motivated or remembering to use apps (especially ones that aren’t games!) is really hard. That’s why we created MentorHub NU! The MentorHub NU app allows you to see apps that are helpful for reaching your goals, while also providing a platform for you to receive help and support for using those apps. You and your Student Success Guide should follow these steps to have a good plan in place.

Step 1: Identify a challenge

Look back at your Check-In – what was the challenge that you rated the most difficult? What’s the challenge that you’ve been facing the most recently?

Step 2: Set a goal

Work collaboratively with your Student Success Guide to set goals for your app or resource use. To get started, try indicating your current priorities through the Goal Setting feature in MentorHub NU by navigating to your dashboard, clicking “set your goals,” and selecting your priorities on a variety of domains.

For example, you might indicate on your Check-in that Health and Well-being is your biggest challenge. To start, you might want to try using the recommended IntelliCare app every day. However, you might not remember to use the app each day. You and your Student Success Guide might decide that you should set an alarm on your phone so that you remember to use the app each day at the same time. Or, you might decide that you want to use an app twice this week. You should set a goal of whatever you and your Student Success Guide think will be most helpful! Just be sure to launch the recommended app from the MentorHub NU app so that it can track your use.

Step 3: Get supported

After you’ve set your goals, your Student Success Guide will provide you with support for reaching those goals. You also might notice that you’re more willing to follow through on your plans if you have to report back to your Student Success Guide about whether or not you used your apps as planned. You can also personally track your goal progress by clicking on “Goal progress” on your MentorHub NU dashboard. It’s your Student Success Guide’s job to check in with you to provide you with encouragement for following through with your plan to use the apps.
